An Overview of The Recycling Fund

This recycling fund has been designed to assist you to upgrade you doors and windows. It isn’t an initiative that is backed by the government – instead, it’s provided exclusively by our own panel of door and window suppliers who can offer outstanding discounts when you recycle your old windows and doors.

You can receive a discount of up to £2,500 if you meet the criteria below:
You’re anxious of your energy bills rising every year.
You have windows or doors that are more than 5 years old.
You own your own home in Scotland.

How the Scottish Energy Efficiency Fund works

The expense of new doors and windows may deter you from upgrading, although you can make some significant energy savings. This initiative can help some Scottish households with discounts of as much as £2,500 off the cost of new doors and windows.

We achieve this by offering you discounts for your old doors and windows which we then subsequently recycle, including their glass. That enables us to give you an outstanding saving on the expense of buying new doors or windows.

We remove your old doors and windows and recycle them for free. This has a positive effect on our environment. This initiative also gives you a wide variety of door and window installation options to pick from to help you create your chosen aesthetic for your home.

What sort of discount am I likely to receive?

With major discounts that are worth thousands of pounds, it’s not hard to see new doors and windows will be far more affordable. This initiative operates on the basis of your property size within the levels we provide. Usually, the initiative will provide you a with a trade-in price of £100 per door and £200 for each window, but the subsidy level varies depending on how many doors and windows your property has.

Bear in mind, this isn’t a fund backed by the government – it’s solely provided by our own partners who buy back old doors and windows for up to £2,500 to significantly reduce the costs associated with replacing them. The glass, doors, and windows will all be recycled (around 95%), meaning you are helping the protect our environment.

Why was this fund set up?

This fund is designed to help people make energy savings by investing in new doors and windows. Old windows and doors usually retail far less heat when compared with the new doors and windows that we install.

Heat loss through inefficient doors and windows is a key reason why you may find you have higher energy bills, and when taking into account the current rise in the wholesale price of energy, it’s a good idea to reduce the amount of energy you consume via heat loss. There’s an added benefit too – your old doors and windows (including their glass) won’t be going into landfill to cause the environment long-term harm.

How are windows and doors recycled?

Typically, the frames will be shredded, then granulated before being micronised. Once this has been completed, the old doors and windows can then be recycled, creating new uPVC with an extremely long lifespan which can be installed in another property. This environmentally-friendly approach that our partners have adopted is preventing huge amounts of uPVC which could be recycled from going to landfill.
